Data processing by social media<\/strong><\/p>


We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social media. The social media we use are listed below.<\/p>

Social media such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), etc. are generally able to comprehensively analyze your user behavior when you visit their websites or a website that integrates social media content (e.g., Like buttons or advertising banners). Visiting our social media profiles triggers numerous data processing operations that are relevant under data protection law. In particular:<\/p>

If you are logged into your social media account and visit one of our social media profiles, the operator of the respective social media platform may associate your visit with your user account. Under certain circumstances, however, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media platform. In such cases, data may be collected, for example, through cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.<\/p>

Using the data collected in this way, the operators of social media platforms can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. This enables interest-based advertising to be displayed to you both within and outside the respective social media platform. If you have an account with the respective social network, interest-based advertising may be displayed on all devices on which you are or have been logged in.<\/p>

Please also note that we are not able to track all processing activities carried out on social media platforms. Depending on the provider, additional processing operations may therefore be performed by the operators of the social media platforms. Legal Basis<\/strong><\/p>

Our social media profiles are intended to ensure the broadest possible presence on the Internet. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.<\/p>

Any analysis processes initiated by the social media may be based on different legal grounds, which must be specified by the operators of the social media (e.g., consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).<\/p>

Controller and Exercise of Rights<\/strong><\/p>

When you visit one of our social media profiles (e.g., Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during your visit. In principle, you may exercise your rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media platform (e.g., Facebook).<\/p>

Please note that despite the joint controllership with the social media platform operators, we do not have full influence over the data processing operations of the social media platforms. Our options are largely determined by the corporate policies of the respective provider.<\/p>

Storage Period<\/strong><\/p>

Data collected directly by us via our social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose for storing the data no longer applies, you request its deletion, you withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage ceases to exist. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular legal retention periods, remain unaffected.<\/p>

We have no influence on the storage period of your data that is stored by the operators of social media for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social media directly (e.g., via their privacy policies, see below).<\/p>
