The Berchtesgadener Land Dairy Cooperative—founded in 1927—processes the high-quality milk from its approximately 1,500 farmers between the Watzmann and Zugspitze mountains at its sole facility in Piding in the Berchtesgadener Land region. The dairy is a winner of the Bavarian and German SME Awards, and its EMAS-certified commitment to sustainability has already been honored twice with the German Sustainability Award.

Peter Mertes KG is Germany’s largest wine cellar, headquartered in Bernkastel-Kues on the Moselle, founded in 1924 by Peter Mertes. Now in its fourth generation as a family-run business, the company impresses with a broad range of well-known private labels distributed through both German and international food retail. In addition to wine, Peter Mertes also produces spirits and wine cocktails as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Well-known brands include Bree, Maybach and Landlust. California Dairies, Inc. (CDI) is the largest dairy farmer cooperative in California, run by nearly 300 family farms. CDI is known for high shares of butter production in the USA.

The cooperative dairy Okręgowa Spółdzielnia Mleczarska w Piątnicy is a major dairy in Poland. Founded in 1965, it became one of the country’s largest dairies. Ornua Deutschland GmbH, with the Kerrygold brand, produces dairy products from Irish grass-fed milk. At the site in Neukirchen-Vluyn, Irish Kerrygold Butter “Extra” and butter specialities are packed and, together with other Kerrygold dairy products such as cheese, distributed in the DACH region. Today, Kerrygold Original Irish Butter ranks first in popularity and consumption among all those offered in Germany.
